PITTSFIELD – Ward 6 City Councilor John Krol announced today the Ward 6 Blog, which will allow constituents to follow the progress of his reelection campaign and encourage continuous communication to election day and beyond.
Users can access the blog by logging onto Krol’s Ward 6 website: krolward6.com.
Since his first term, beginning in 2010, Krol has utilized technology to enhance communication with his constituents. This has included an active website and electronic newsletter. Krol said that he has evolved to the use of a blog because it is a way to distribute information more consistently and quickly, particularly through the use of social media. Krol has an active presence on Facebook, Twitter, LinkedIn and Google+.
Krol said that the blog is the best way to capture the essence of his preferred mode of dialogue – door-to-door communication.
“Going door-to-door is not only the best way to communicate with constituents, it’s also a great way to address issues,” Krol said. “Often residents do not consider what we can do to enhance their quality of life, until they are asked. It’s a more proactive approach, and our daily Ward 6 Blog will provide a real-time reflection of the issues we address and some of the great stories I encounter along the way.”
Krol is seeking a third term as Ward 6 Councilor. During his three and half years in office, there have been more infrastructure improvements in Ward 6 than in the previous decade, including more than a dozen road projects, numerous sidewalk improvements, and more. Krol has been a strong advocate of investing in our schools, commonsense code enforcement and specific programs to make Pittsfield a more attractive location to invest and to raise a family.
A business owner himself, Krol has strongly supported efforts to make Pittsfield more business-friendly, which included leading the successful effort to reduce the business tax rate, support for tax incentives to encourage economic growth and jobs and the strategic use of the Pittsfield Economic Development Fund for the creation of jobs.
